Is there a color more glamorous or special than the coveted shade of Tiffany Blue? I didn’t think so. From the moment I laid eyes on this glamorous wedding from ZoomWorks Photography, I was in love. From the Tiffany Blue of the bridesmaids dresses, to the pretty table linens, all the way to the bottom of the bride’s shoes. Nothing is prettier than a wedding filled with this hue, except perhaps for one filled with love. Which is exactly what I have to share with you this fabulous Monday morning!
Jessica met Adam her first night as a cocktail waitress at a local Irish pub. It was there that Adam asked her and a friend if they would be interested in joining his softball team. They both agreed, thinking it would be fun, and Jessica put his name and number into her phone. She called him the next day, only to find that she’d called the wrong Adam. She quickly added “Softball” to the end of his name in her phone and dialed again. (Aww!)
Jessica and her friend joined the softball team shortly thereafter. And after trying to set Adam up with a few friends, Jessica asked herself why on earth she didn’t just date him. One month after meeting, Jessica and Adam’s relationship began. He is still “Adam Softball” in her phone to this day.
Thanksgiving of 2009, Jessica and Adam visited New Jersey to spend the holiday with Adam’s family. When Black Friday came, Adam braced the madness to accompany Jessica on her traditional shopping jaunt.
While in Nordstrom, Jessica laid eyes on a gorgeous cubic zirconium ring in their costume jewelry section that looked just like the engagement ring of her dreams. She tried it on and showed Adam, who liked it as well. She told him that it looked so real, he should just buy this one and that no one would ever know. The idea didn’t sit well with Adam as he wanted to buy her a real ring when the time was right. He did however purchase the ring to know exactly what she would like. She wore it the whole way home and hid it at the bottom of their shopping bags upon their arrival. It was the last she saw of the ring until New Year’s Eve.
They had gone to their favorite local pizza place for lunch, then to see a movie, and finally back to their house to change for their neighborhood New Year’s Eve party. Once home, Adam had Jessica wait in the living room claiming Bear, their schnoodle whom they treat as a son, had a present for her. When they reappeared, Adam had the white cardboard ring box from Nordstrom in his hands.
He explained that he’d looked around at rings but found nothing that he either liked or could afford. She told him over and over again that it didn’t matter, that she loved it and was so very happy. He asked her to marry him and slid the ring on her finger. Still admiring the ring, Jessica didn’t notice as Adam turned and surprised her with a bunch of wedding magazines, knowing she would want to get started on planning right away.
Still crying excited tears, Jessica barely noticed as he took out yet another little box, this one brown and velvet. He got down on one knee before her and for real this time asked her to be his wife. Inside the box, was a ring he had personally designed based off the cubic zirconium ring she’d found in Nordstrom. Overjoyed doesn’t even begin to describe Jessica in that moment and it didn’t take long for her to say yes.
I really don’t know what I love more about this wedding. The pretty blue hue, the mason jars wrapped in burlap and twine, the bride’s pretty shoes, or the love between the two. Thank you, Jessica and Adam, for sharing your love story with us! Congratulations and so much love to you both! Thank you, Shannah and Marisu, for sharing their very special day with all of us today!
