A snowy winter sadly does not seem to want to make an appearance this year, at least not here in New England. So we decided to chase those winter blahs away (snow or no snow) with a winter wedding inspiration board to capture some of the beautiful blue hues that represent a late afternoon snowy day.
Our inspiration started with photos from Emily Steffen Photography. We just love the warm, casualness of the bride and groom. Both in warm, fuzzy sweaters including a rich, plaid scarf for him. The variety of textures and patterns are perfectly paired and layered with various shades of blue. And who can resist what looks like an aquamarine engagement ring? The ice blue color reminds me of icicles dripping from the roof after a long winter and the melt begins. Menu cards carry the blue theme tucked into a crisp, linen napkin along with some cinnamon sticks adding some yummy fragrance. Of course, we love this cake with icing that looks like petals have been scattered all over it with a stunningly simple cake topper – silver ribbon with a sparkly brooch – understated, but oh, so elegant. And how about a unique wedding keepsake – a gorgeous white paper roses bouquet! Yes, these roses are made of paper. I am in awe! Lastly we have these mini tapers, wrapped with a blue satin ribbon. Wouldn’t these make a great little favor?
So, have we chased the winter blahs away with our super, beautiful winter blue hues?
