I just love nautical weddings! Maybe it’s because within just a few hours drive, we can be at one of the most beautiful coastlines in the US. While I adore the gorgeous, warm beaches of the south, there is something so special about our northern coast. And so this week’s wedding inspiration board honors some of the timeless styles and colors of a classic, yet trendy, New England, nautical wedding.
No nautical wedding is complete without a lighthouse, and the one in this photo is on Nantucket Island, MA. I even had the pleasure of visiting this particular lighthouse just last year. Nantucket Island is probably one of my absolute favorite spots ever. And to hold a wedding there would be simply…magical. I know that when you think of a nautical wedding, you might originally envision red, white and blue, but we choose a beautiful salmon peach, navy blue, sky blue, cream and grey for our color palette. All of which is beautifully represented in the details and decor from the lush peony bouquet to the rope, anchors and lanterns that are almost, pretty much a requirement for a wedding by the sea. I love the knot that was used in the ring shot. It adds texture and a certain rustic-ness to all those pretty sparkles :) The rope theme is further carried on into the ring bearer pillow with the addition of an anchor to help you tie the knot – ha! And if you’re going to get married in New England, on the coast, your groom and groomsmen must have Vineyard Vines ties. Must. The salmon color with little blue whales is just plain perfect! Don’t you agree? :)
