Wheeee! I get to talk about Katherine Henry Boudoir today! I’m excited. Can you tell? :) Along with her exploding boudoir photography business that was relaunched earlier this year, Katherine is also one half of the husband and wife duo behind Henry Photographers. She is also one of the most amazing and talented women I have ever met. And yes, I have actually met with her, worked with her, even been in front of her camera (though not yet for boudoir). Her BRAND NEW studio (is fabulous) and based in Boston, Massachusetts, and while she wants to get lots and lots of use out of it, she is also available to travel to you. If you’re looking for an amazingly comfortable bombshell experience for your boudoir photos, Katherine Henry is your go-to-girl!!!

{Katherine Henry Boudoir} is committed to providing an unforgettable experience filled with pampering, excitement and helping you feel like the supermodel that you are. Whether nervous or totally at ease, Katherine will be there every step of the way from helping you prepare for your shoot, to choosing outfits, to posing, to helping you select the best way to share your photos. Plus, there’s the awesome end result to look forward to!

{Katherine} lives with her husband, 2 dogs (Brody and Nacho) and (21.5 year old!) cat, Patches. She is obsessed with chocolate to the point where she must at least eat one piece a day! When she’s not with her family or taking photos, Katherine can most likely be found online… shopping. The mailman probably thinks she’s crazy (her words:)).

Katherine’s venture into boudoir photography began with wedding photography. Many of her brides asked if she would shoot their boudoir as well, and as soon as she got started, she was hooked! Her boudoir side of the business (the wedding side she shares with her husband, Craig) began in 2009.

Just this year, Katherine relaunched the boudoir biz under her own name, new logo, and website to match. And just a few months ago, she purchased her first ever studio space!!! Katherine offers a variety of albums (including one covered in sequins), prints, canvases and even old school View-Masters! All of which can be viewed and talked about with Katherine at her studio.

{What a Session is Like} A Boudoir Experience with Katherine really begins before the day of the actual session. She’ll go over outfits and looks with you far in advance so you are 100% comfortable with what you’ll be wearing the day of. She absolutely loves shopping and helping to style these shoots, so don’t be shy in asking for her advice. The shoot itself is a really fun day of pampering with a wonderful end result. She works with fabulous hair and makeup stylists who will create the perfect look for you. While you’re having hair and makeup done, you sip champagne and chat about what you want to get out of the session.

{Most Frequently Asked Question} Posing. Posing. Posing. Every woman’s biggest fear going into a boudoir session is how they should pose. But never fear, Katherine is here to walk you through it. And when I say walk you through it, I mean she will actually get right on those beds and couches and show you exactly the pose she is thinking. That’s dedication to making you feel like a bombshell, people.

{What Boudoir Stands For} “To me, boudoir is all about confidence and beauty. Often times women go into a session with the idea of taking pictures for their loved one, but they finish the session with a new confidence for themselves. Capturing a moment in time like this is so valuable and wonderful to be able to look back on.”

{Her Advice} “Don’t wait to do a session. It’s always easy to say you want to wait until you lose 5 more pounds. You’ll always be able to come up with a reason to hold off and it’s so important to capture what you love about yourself right now. Plus, you can always do it again when you hit that next goal or milestone! Most of all though, have fun with your session! Everyone is nervous going in. Even I was nervous for my shoot on my honeymoon in Palm Springs!!! But, usually, after 10 minutes, the nerves are forgotten, and the only thing left in their place is your inner super model and confidence coming out to play.”

I mentioned before that I have been in front of Katherine’s camera (though not yet for boudoir). This was just a few weeks ago, actually. You see, Katherine was the first photographer to submit an engagement session to me through Two Bright Lights. I’ll never forget that moment. I was elated. I’ve been featuring both Katherine’s boudoir and wedding photography ever since. (She helped bring this beautiful vintage boudoir vision to life for our Month of Vintage Series in January.) It was right around the time of that feature that she and I began chatting about new headshots for myself. We finally scheduled some time in April. I drove into Boston, visited with Katherine at her new studio, had fabulous hair and makeup done by TADA Makeup + Weddings, and then spent the afternoon running around Boston with her. I have never been more happy with photos of myself. I was so comfortable with her and in front of her camera. It was an amazing experience and the results are equally as amazing. This is a sneak peek below. My disc is in the mail (yay!!) so I’ll be able to share more again soon! Thank you, Katherine, from the bottom of my heart for all that you do. I can’t wait to have my boudoir photos with you someday soon!! xoxo

Be sure to check out Katherine’s still brand new website!!! Her blog is filled with styling tips, boudoir inspirations and shoots, and even before and afters (like mine). You can also follow her (and you definitely should) on Facebook and Twitter. Also, if you are in the Boston area (or will be) Katherine has just a few spaces left for her May 20th Boudoir Marathon. Get in on it before it’s gone!!! **Photos are the property of Katherine Henry Boudoir**
