There is something about twinkly lights at a wedding that just adds that extra little something creating all kinds of gorgeousness when done right. You may call it girly, sparkly, even cliché and overdone, but for me, twinkle lights and weddings just go together like peanut butter and jelly or a bride and groom :)
We’ve pulled together some tips and inspiration to share with you just how pretty twinkle lights can be. Not just on trees and bushes, but ceilings in venues and tents, and yes, even in mason jars! Because of their popularity, many venues may already have them set up, saving you time and money. We’ve also included several resources where you can purchase specialty lights including LED, battery operated, and even accessories to turn mason jars into sparkly lights for those not-so-DIYer’s! :)

Tip #1: Twinkle lights are most effective in creating a gorgeous detail for a sunset or evening wedding. Never fear, though, daytime weddings can have twinkle lights too, especially if your reception is indoors. And if your ceremony is earlier in the day, watch the magic happen as dusk settles and the lights come on.
Tip #2: Twinkle lights are a beautiful enhancement to take a tent from ordinary to magical under a starry night, especially in a clear tent.

Tip #3: Mirror tiles and twinkle lights would make for an ah-mazing backdrop for a photo booth. After the wedding, wouldn’t this DIY project make the perfect wall art in your living room or master bedroom? Great mood lighting and conversation piece!

Tip #4: Twinkle lights provide an awesome background for a ceremony, whether they are wrapped around a gazebo or an arch. How about built into a wall or hanging straight down from the ceiling to glistening, glimmering, glittering effect?

Tip #5: How about some super simple details that work well as a DIY. Wrap your twinkly lights in tulle, mason jars, even hoola hoops (spray painted a solid color like white or silver) draped with lights for an inexpensive yet eye catching chandelier!

Doesn’t this look like a shimmery waterfall?

And just because we love them (twinkle lights) and this picture so, here’s one more for good measure! Can you imagine saying I do in front of this glimmering, glittering backdrop? Never mind the jaw-dropping photos you could get too? Cue the swoon.
