when I tell you I love you I don't say it out of habit, love quote printable, free downloadable printable, quotables, love quotes, Blush Printables

Saying I love you to someone, hearing them say it back, is one of the biggest, most wonderful moments in a person’s life. I don’t know about you, but I love to say I love you. And I love to hear it back. Whether it’s the first time or the five-hundredth time, I never get tired of hearing those three little words. It’s amazing how eight little letters can affect a person so much.

And it’s true what this quote says, I think so anyway, that when you say I love you for the five-hundred-and-fiftieth time, it’s not out of habit, or to make conversation. It’s to remind that person that they truly are the best thing that’s ever happened to you. That’s why I say it. That’s why I’ll always say it.

Have you told someone you love them today?

Tell them again.

xoxo

Rustic Spring Green Wedding from Morrissey Photography

posted by Alexandra | in Real Weddings

There aren’t enough “pretty” words in the English language to describe just how beautiful today’s wedding from Morrissey Photography is. Between the J.Crew dresses (ivory for the bride, moss green for the maids), the beyond gorgeous venue, the endless amount of fluffy white flowers, the greenery, the burlap, the mason jars, the delicious dinner, and pies; everything about this wedding is simple, natural elegance, and we couldn’t adore it more! Plus, Hayley is one of the happiest, most gorgeous brides we’ve ever seen! Don’t you agree? :)

Chris and Hayley met in high school. Their first date was to a basketball game. Chris got one of his friends to drive them, and they sat in the backseat and held hands. We all have a similar, special memory like this, don’t we ladies? :)

Chris and Hayley didn’t really date in college, but had remained close friends. Not long after they’d both moved back to Philadelphia after college, Chris took Hayley to this great restaurant in the same neighborhood they live in now. They’ve been together ever since.

Chris took Hayley back to that same restaurant three years later, the same night he planned to propose. While walking home, Chris suggested they stop in a park. Feeling as though something might be up, Hayley readily agreed.

No sooner had they sat down on a bench, did Chris get down on one knee and ask her to be his wife. Neither of them can really remember what was said, they were both so excited and caught up in the moment. But they do remember that he asked, and she said yes!

{From the Bride} This was the wedding of our dreams! From the beginning, we wanted a wedding that reflected our personalities: warm, relaxed, and fun. It was really important to us to have our wedding near our families. When we found the High Point, we knew it was perfect. It was simple, surrounded by nature, and close to home. The whole vibe of the venue, and it being Spring, really inspired our flowers and other rustic touches. White flowers with greenery in mason jars, burlap, and lights around the dance floor. Everything was simple, elegant.

We went back and forth deciding whether or not we should do a first look. We were both a little nervous about being in the spotlight on the big day, so we decided to do one. We thought that seeing each other before the ceremony would calm any and all nerves we had. And it did :)

Our favorite moment was the last song. We’d asked the band to play one of our favorite songs, Just Like Heaven by The Cure, and Chris and I danced together as our guests gathered around us. We were both just so incredibly happy in that moment. Surrounded by the beauty of the wedding we created, by our family, and best friends.

{Advice for Couples} For the bride-to-be: Try to face any wedding planning challenges with patience and humor. And when your wedding day arrives, just enjoy every moment! Don’t sweat the small stuff. Weddings are about family, friendship, fun, and a celebration of true love.

Mint, Peach, Pink and Black Wedding Ideas

posted by Karin | in Inspiration Boards

Oh, lovely shade of mint, how I adore thee! Everywhere I look these days, in home decor, in fashion, and especially, weddings, mint seems to be there too. What I love most is that it not only acts as a neutral, but a fabulous splash of color too. So, in honor of this hue, a fabulous wedding inspiration board to make your heart skip a beat or two!

Mint, Peach, Pink & Black Wedding Ideas, Inspiration Board

Mint, Peony Pink, Orange Sherbet, Black

A peony bouquet is one of my all-time favorites! I’ve managed to keep just one peony plant alive in my garden for a number of years (no small feat), and every year, I can’t wait to see it bloom. If I was a bride carrying a bouquet of peonies, I probably wouldn’t be able to tear my nose away from the beautiful scent. I’d have my nose in it all day :) The mint shoes in this really neat ring shot were actually what inspired our color palette today! It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? I just love this graphic, and the quote, it’s one of my favorites :) My splash of black resides in these sweet monogrammed mugs. I’m loving the two different fonts that were used – takes the monogram from everyday to fabulous in an instant! More peonies!! This time as a centerpiece (so I would have something else to stick my nose in, of course). And lastly, the mint green silk cummerbund and bow tie (with itty bitty golf balls and clubs) that I think would pop ever-so-nicely against a sharp black suit or tux. Very James Bond, no? Maybe? Maybe so.

I think this color palette was “mint” to be! Don’t you agree? :)

Day-of Wedding Stationery

posted by Karin | in Expert Advice, Wedding Planning Tips

We are so happy to once again welcome Heather from Simply Designed Invitations to share with us some great tips for your day-of stationery. Be sure to refer back to her first post about Stress Free Stationery as well!

{From Heather} This is one of our favorite items to work on. But so many couples forget to budget for day-of stationery, or at least wait until the last possible moment, when it should be something you account for in your overall wedding stationery budget. This includes everything from ceremony programs, seating cards (escort and/or place cards), table signs, and menus. So let’s break this down a little bit more and talk about why you should have some of these pieces.

Ceremony Programs: Your ceremony programs are helpful for religious ceremonies where some guests might be unfamiliar with ceremony rituals or traditions. This is where you have the opportunity to explain some of your most treasured traditions and why you and your honey decided to include them. You can add little stories about your bridesmaids and groomsmen, story about how the two of you met, your thank you to the guests, in memory of those who have passed or in honor of those who can’t be there. Remember that programs aren’t required, and because of that it gives you the opportunity to be playful! Get creative and have fun!

Menus: These cards are a nice touch for plated dinner receptions, and there are so many design options. You don’t have to have a traditional card, you can have silverware napkin wraps, custom design signs that sit on the table, or pretty much anything you can imagine. It is a nice way to let guests know what they are being served and what to look forward to… like the cake, who doesn’t like cake?

Seating Cards: Whether you are using escort cards, which would be placed at a table for guests to pick up, or place cards, which would be set on the tables, guests like to know they have a seat. These are a must for a large wedding, and will also help your sanity when working up table seating charts. You can also use place cards and escort cards together. If you are using place cards, don’t forget the seating chart! Guests need to know where they are going. We have also found that guests feel more comfortable when they have an assigned seat, so we feel that these are a priority for your day-of stationery.

Day-of Wedding Seating Cards Stationery by Simply Designed Invitations

When planning your day-of stationery you should work with your designer 1.5-3 months prior to your wedding. This will give you ample time to design everything how you want, and get them printed, especially if you are printing on something other than paper, say a wood slab, and delivered in time for the wedding!

Thank you again, Heather, for sharing your knowledge and expertise today! If you would like to learn more about Heather and Simply Designed Invitations, please check out her vendor listing in our exclusive Vendor Boutique and find out what her clients love most about her!

Modern Purple New England Wedding from Deborah Zoe Photography

posted by Alexandra | in Real Weddings

What is it about purple weddings that I love so much? They’re PURPLE, of course! And today’s modern beauty of a wedding from Deborah Zoe Photography features a shade of purple that I just adore! From the gorgeous bouquets, to the bridesmaid dresses, to the mens’ attire, to the tissue paper pompoms, the lollipop favors/escort cards, even the groom’s shoes (oh yes, they’re purple too). Aside from all those amazing details though; is one amazing couple! The love in their eyes, the happiness in their smiles, is more beautiful than it all.

It’s a special day when we get to feature the wedding of a couple who’s engagement session we already featured. (And this is the second time in two weeks we’ve been blessed to do so.) You might remember Megan and Kenny from their beyond beautiful engagement session filled with so many special, in-between moments (because love isn’t about the big or ostentatious moments) that we featured back in May.

Megan and Kenny finally met nearly two years after coming within inches of each other many times. Megan says that Kenny is one of those guys you dream about, but never think you could end up with. Only she did.

It was their proposal story that stuck with me because I loved it so much. Kenny took Megan down to the beach and gave her three pieces of paper entitled “100 Reasons Why I Love You.” When she got to the bottom of the third page, she realized there was no reason #100. When she pointed it out to him, he pulled a fourth and final page from his pocket. The 100th reason simply read: “The night I asked you to marry me and you said…” By the time Megan looked up, Kenny was getting on one knee. Of course she said yes! Because, really, how could you not?! :)

You can read more of their sweet-as-can-be love story (and check out their gorgeous engagement photos) here, before continuing to swoon (as I am) over their wedding day and details below.

{From the Bride} Our wedding day was exactly what we wanted, and exactly what I pictured in my dreams. We really wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities, so we threw in a lot of little details – like Kenny wears Nike sneakers everyday, so we got custom ones made. And we both love to laugh and be silly, so we had to have a photo booth :) We also chose purple as our accent color, which I rarely saw in magazines/online, but thought would be elegant and rich.

I remember everything except walking down the aisle. I experienced complete tunnel vision because I couldn’t wait to see Kenny, or for him to see me. The most memorable moment was the last song of the night (The Good Life by Kanye West) where all of our closest friends and family gathered tightly on the dance floor and danced/sang their hearts out.

We did not do a first look, and I’m so happy we didn’t because Kenny’s reaction was priceless, and EVERYONE got to see it. He cried sweet tears, which I did not expect at all.

Our first dance was to Stay With You by John Legend, a beautiful song about sticking together through it all.

I didn’t expect everything to go so smoothly throughout the entire process. My wedding was everything and more than I imagined, and I think it was because I truly married my soulmate.

{Advice for Couples} The advice I would give to anyone on their wedding day is 1) enjoy every precious second. 2) Hug, kiss, and dance with your new hubby/wife as much as possible. 3) At one point during the evening, stop and look around – it’s the one time in your entire life when every single person you love is in the same room – and they are there just for you and your new husband/wife. It’s an amazing feeling.

Congratulations, Megan and Kenny, and thank you so much for sharing the details of your day with us today! We wish you both so much love and laughter in the many years you’ll share together! And a special thank you to Deborah Zoe for sharing this very special day with us today! xoxo
