When your newly Southern bride and groom decide to return to their Northern roots to wed, a New England wedding filled with Southern charm is not only possible, it’s beautiful! Filled with DIY details, bright turquoise and yellow colors, nautical accents, sunflower bouquets, local foods, backyard games, delicious pies instead of cake, and the loving support of family and friends, this wedding captured by Live View Studios is the epitome of a laid back and delightful affair!

Do you remember these two adorable lovebirds? We featured their sweet-as-can-be engagement session in July? There was strawberry shortcake involved? You remember them, don’t you? I knew you would! They’re too adorable to forget :)
Their proposal story was one of my favorites we’ve featured this year. He saved for months to buy her a recycled white gold, conflict free Canadian diamond, and Arizona Peridot engagement ring. He took her to the North Carolina Zoo where a scavenger hunt to all the monogamous animals there (like the bald eagles and river otters) led them to the red wolves exhibit. It was there that Aaron got down on one knee and asked Allison to be his bride.

Today, we celebrate their wedding day!! Enjoy the details, the photos, and recollections from the beautiful bride :)

{From the Bride} My favorite part of our wedding day was the ceremony. We compiled the ceremony ourselves and my brother-in-law was our officiant, so it was very personal. Under that big oak tree, surrounded by our friends and family, I felt so loved and supported as we committed our lives to each other. Part of our ceremony included a ring warming, and each time I look at my wedding band, I am reminded of our friends and family who love us.

We did a first look before the ceremony because I knew it was going to be a hot day (it ended up being very, very hot) and I wanted everyone at their freshest.

Our first dance was Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are The Best Thing”.

I was never one to dream about my wedding growing up. During planning, Aaron and I wanted a wedding that was reflective of us. We took on a lot ourselves – the flowers, the music, the decor, but it all came together in the end. And, after all was said and done, it was just what we wanted – a fun and relaxing day with our favorite people that celebrated the commitment Aaron and I were making to each other!

{Advice for Couples} Focus on each other and try to stay present to the commitment you are making when you are planning a wedding. Some of the best advice we received: don’t keep score!

Congratulations, Allison and Aaron, and thank you so much for sharing your love story with us! We wish you both so much love and laughter in the many years you’ll share together! And a very special thank you to Brent and Anna for sharing their very special day with us today! xoxo
