Submissions

When choosing weddings for our site, we look for gorgeous, natural, light-filled, minimally processed photography, a meaningful love story, and sweet, personal details that bring that love story to life. We take great care in the layout of each of our features. Thoughtful consideration goes into the placement of every photograph based on lighting, coloring, and a balance between the lovely couple and the fabulous details. We want the photographs to tell as much of a story as the actual love story does. Photographers, please follow the guidelines below:

Please email 75-100 images sized to 600 pixels wide (both horizontal and vertical) to Submissions (submissions at heartloveweddings dot com) with the following information: couple’s name, wedding date, wedding location, all vendor information you have (names and websites), and a brief description of the couple’s love story/wedding day. No watermarks or collages please and do not embed images in the email.

Know that we look for a plethora of details including but not limited to bouquets, invitations, cakes, rings, men’s attire, wedding and bridesmaids dresses and venues with an equal amount of bride and groom portraits. We look for images that will illicit emotion as well as inspiration. Think swoon-worthy, breathtaking, heart-pounding, and personal.

While we do receive a number of submissions each week, we do our best to respond to each one personally. If the wedding is chosen, we will email you the link (also found at the bottom of this page if you want to be proactive) for a fill-able love story or engagement questionnaire for your brides to fill out. The more detailed these are, the better. We will ask for more details if not enough are provided initially. If you have not heard back from us within 14 days, we welcome you to submit your work to another publication. If you are unsure, please contact us for more information.

We like to keep our content fresh, new, and beautiful, and while we do enforce an exclusivity policy, exceptions can be made. This is on a case-by-case basis only and we would appreciate your honesty in this matter. Please tell us if the wedding you are submitting has either already been published or is being considered by another publication.

We also consider wedding videos, styled shoots, engagement sessions, and a select number of boudoir shoots. As we look for images that will evoke emotion and inspiration, each of these submissions will be looked at closely and accepted based upon those guidelines. Boudoir sessions must be classic, lewd material will not be published. Bridal sessions and trash the dress sessions are not accepted at this time.

Please keep in mind that because our niche at Heart Love Weddings is the love story, we cannot go forward with a publication (engagement or wedding) without those love story details. No exceptions will be made.

We also happily accept submissions through Two Bright Lights.
