Flirty and sweet meet edgy and sultry in this boudoir shoot from Katherine Henry Boudoir! We love getting boudoir submissions from Katherine because we know we’re in for a most creative and sexy good time. Katherine has a way of not only capturing, but creating boudoir that is as edgy as it is sweet, as flirty as it is sultry, as dreamy and romantic as it is alluring and sexy. She proves time and time again that boudoir sessions don’t have to be a bra and panty set, or barely there, or corset. Sexy can be lacy lingerie, a turtleneck and boyshorts, or even a pair of fabulous tights (as you’ll see in just a little bit). Boudoir has many, many facets. It’s much like a diamond in that regard. Maybe that’s why we love boudoir photography so much. Because it dazzles us!!

{From Katherine} When Madison returned for her second shoot, we wanted to have a different look and feel from the last time. This time we decided to take it up a notch with more lacy lingerie and a bright red lip. We still wanted to play with the idea of casual sexy, so we included a cute turtleneck and boy-short outfit. At the end of the session we thought it would be fun to play with some textured tights and a bandeau top. The tights became the focus of those photos and show that the simplest wardrobe option can really make an impact in photographs.

My favorite outfit was the floral top and short. I love how light and romantic they feel. Madison was able to go from flirty to sultry with her outfit selections. I always like to tell my clients that it’s important to have a variety in your wardrobe. This can mean a variety in colors and also styles. Boudoir doesn’t have to mean just bra and panty or corset. Bring a cool pair of tights and really play with the looks!

We absolutely love the different looks, Katherine and Madison, the model, put together for this shoot. And that red lip that Tara of TADA Makeup + Weddings chose? Owh Owwhh!! Gorgeous!! Like I said above, boudoir has many styles and facets. It also has different purposes. You could absolutely do a shoot and gift the fantastic photographs to your husband (think wedding day or anniversary, birthday), or do it for yourself. Boudoir has so many looks. It’s one of the things I love most about it actually. It can be simple and sexy, like this boudoir shoot that we featured a couple of weeks ago. It can also be bold, daring even, colorful, and sexy too, much like the shoot we’re about to see today!

FUN. SEXY. HIP. BOLD. PLAYFUL. SULTRY. All words that I would use to describe today’s boudoir shoot. I love it when I hear Katherine Henry Boudoir and TADA Makeup + Weddings are working together on a shoot. Because you know the result is going to be electrifying. In fact, there’s another word I would use to describe this shoot: ELECTRIFYING.

{From Katherine} For Lealyn’s shoot, Tara and I wanted the images to scream FUN, SEXY, and HIP. We were both inspired by all the bright colors and neons that are in fashion right now. Tara did a lot of the styling and found some really great, bold lingerie that has a playful feel to it while still being sexy.

Tara also brought some pretty cool pieces from her own closet, like the colorful scarf we turned into a top! The colors match perfectly with the eye makeup.

I love how Lealyn’s look goes from sexy and sultry to playful and fun with a bat of the eye. Boudoir has so many looks, and I love all the ones Lealyn covered at her shoot!

{From Tara} Lealyn is wearing a tada original robe, which will be sold exclusively at the tada boutique in Reading (Massachusetts). Each robe is made from organic cotton voile. There are nine beautiful stock fabrics to choose from (although special orders can be made in the fabric of your choice – think wedding colors!). Each robe has a pocket, lined in a unique, complimentary lace (often vintage!) and tie with a wider belt.

They are great for a bride and her bridal party, or for that girl who just likes to look and feel lovely around the house! The robes retail for $92, but mention this post and you’ll pay $80! I really do love everything about this shoot. I love how daring it is. I love the bold colors. I love the super sexy vibe and posing. Lealyn worked it in this shoot and looked smokin’ hot doing it. I love the way Katherine captured this shoot. And I love the makeup Tara chose. It all just goes together. I especially love that it makes another statement, that boudoir has more than one look. There are so many reasons to love today’s featured boudoir shoot. The first things I thought when I saw it (and this is almost, pretty much verbatim) were this, “Simple. Sexy. Very girl next door. Holy CRAP that smoky eye is AMAZING!!! I love everything about this.”

When Katherine Henry Boudoir got together with Tara of TADA Makeup + Weddings they wanted to style a boudoir shoot that proves less can be more and be sexy too. They succeeded tenfold! Along with their beautiful model, Madison, they showed that simple can be sexy too.

{From Katherine} Tara and I love working together to style shoots. It’s so much fun to have a vision and then see it come to life. When we started thinking about Madison’s session, we wanted to go in a much different direction from the shoots we have done in the past. We are firm believers that less can be more, and wanted to show a boudoir feature that isn’t all lingerie and lace.

I have many clients who are more reserved when it comes to shooting and outfit options. I want to put it out there that you don’t have to be showing it all to be super sexy! Madison started with some boy shorts and we played around with some cute and casual tops to complete the look. I just love the soft tones in the clothing with the dark makeup that Tara did.

We also loved the lacy cami and wanted to include this in the shoot. It’s super feminine and soft, and with the dark makeup, made for the perfect contrast. Again, it’s super cute without being too revealing.

Madison was adorable and I just love how she can transform from cute and bubbly to sexy and sultry throughout the session!

I have to agree with Katherine on the whole less is more bit. Many times it’s the little showings of skin that keep him wondering, that drive him wild, and most importantly, that keep him coming back for more. I love this shoot and everything that it stands for. I love how very girl next door it is with the sweet smiles and sultry eyes. I love that it makes a statement: Simple can be sexy too. Friday is sexy! Because we have a gorgeous beyond gorgeous vintage boudoir shoot to share with you from Papered Heart Photography! I love this shoot. The lighting, the beautiful hotel backdrop, the sultry look in Miss K’s eyes all make for a very old world glamorous feel. It’s simply super sexy.

{What Miss K Had to Say} I first heard of doing the boudoir shoot from a friend of mine. It was something I wish I had done for my wedding day, but I honestly didn’t really know about it five years ago. I could never really find an appropriate time in my life where I felt skinny enough or happy enough with myself to actually go through the boudoir shoot process. I am way conservative and pretty shy when it comes to makeup and wearing dresses or “showing skin,” so making me look like myself and feeling comfortable was top priority.

Our 5th wedding anniversary was coming up in October and we had an amazing trip planned to Sonoma to celebrate! I was battling how I was going to make this trip extra special and how I could do something different for my husband. Then, the boudoir shoot idea came to mind! I did some research online and I talked to a couple of photographers, but I had no connection with any of them. I knew my friend Liz was starting into the photography business and was connecting with a friend from high school, Erin, on a collaboration. I immediately contacted them, and was SO happy I did.

I brought a few ideas to the table, and Erin made me feel very comfortable from the get-go! We bounced our ideas off of each other and the next thing I knew, we were getting ready for my shoot! I chose the hotel, Don Vincente in Ybor City, for my boudoir session because it has a rustic and old-world feel to it. I wanted the feel to be vintage, soft, sexy, but me, and boy was it!

I was nervous about the shoot but I bought outfits that made me feel comfortable and accentuated my greatest assets. I got my hair and makeup done, and showed up to the hotel feeling great about myself. We played music, had some adult beverages, and laughed, which made the shoot fun and vibrant. The shy me was definitely not in that room that day! I have never felt so comfortable in my skin than that day, and it truly was because I had Erin and Liz a part of my shoot.

I did surprise my husband with the photos during our trip, and by his reaction, I am so glad I went through with it. It is a day I will always remember and a priceless gift I was able to share with my husband.

We’ve had such an awesome response to the vintage boudoir by Katherine Henry Boudoir that we thought we’d give you some additional eye-candy. We created a vintage boudoir inspiration board featuring the talents of Danielle Fletcher from Boudoir on Film and a couple of additional props that would accent any session, whether vintage or modern.

We love statement pieces and this sparkly gem of a necklace would make a great accessory. Love, love, love this pretty little perfume bottle.
